So today I was at Sutraa Exhibition and I can’t tell you how much fun I had in my two hours of time there! Umesh and Monika who have now become good friends of mine are the organizers. They’re from Kolkata and they’re a bit biased to their hometown 😉 hence I could see a lot of designers from there which was actually good as they came up with exclusive stuff.
This is their 2nd edition, the first one being in Kolkata itself. They have done a fabulous job here in Hyderabad right from maintaining quality in designer products to the arrangements. As I entered the exhibition I could see lot of stalls with DIFFERENT collection! Generally, exhibitions have same kind of stuff at every alternate stall, but this, on the contrary was new. There were stalls for Indian wear, Wedding wear, Party wear, Western wear, Casuals, semi-stitched dresses, Accessories, Jewelry, Purses, footwear and what not!
Let’s have a look at what I’m wearing; It’s a party wear gown in pastel green with lovely panel work and a smart cut on the back. I’m wearing these striking danglers and a an edgy palm cuff to go with the outfit. This dress too is from the one stalls at Sutraa.
I could see a stall which was selling Pakistani work fabrics, so they’re basically off white, beige colored materials which look like chikankari work. They had amazing collection in shararas, lehenga cholis and dress materials. Then, I happened to hop onto another stall where there were stunning accessories. I just loved their antique collection as they had lot of stuff in stones like stone studded bracelets, artistic necklaces, long tassel earrings, edgy earcuffs and so much more. Also there were lots of stalls with printed fabrics like kalamkari, batik and contemporary prints too. The designers have played fabulously with the drapes and cuts keeping the sartorial elegance intact and I am in love with almost all the pieces out there.
There were manufactures of Purses, clutches & hand bags who could offer them to you at a much reasonable price. There was also one beautiful stall which had pure silver antique jewelry and the collection was Jaw dropping! They had authentic and intricate designs in necklaces, kadas, rings, earrings and as the Navratri is coming closer this seems like the best time to shop. Another stall had fantastic Wall Pieces, Hangings and show pieces to adorn your walls and tables with.
All the collection was different cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Raipur, Jaipur, Nagpur etc. so you are sure to get fresh collection from different parts of the country. It was inaugurated by the beautiful Hamsa Nandini.
I think I have covered about almost everything that you could possibly shop! So all in all, Fashion-Beauty-lifestyle-home needs, all under one roof that too at a reasonable price. What else can one wish for?
Quickly visit SUTRAA before the stock is over and grab the best.
