Hope & Pray everyone’s doing well! It’s that time of the year when all you ladies have to put on the chef hat and start soaking food into the alcohol and spirits as a part of cake mixing which is said to be the harbinger of good tidings and happiness for the most awaited Christmas Celebrations. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of such celebrations and it indeed brings in a lot of cheer and merry into our lives. So here’s what I wore at a recent cake mixing ceremony organized by The Park Hyderabad.
This is a printed choker top with a wrap-around skirt. Cake mixing is a traditional ceremony associated with many beliefs and rituals & so I chose to keep it very simple with light and subtle colors yet stylish with those smart cuts. The floral print white choker top looks very chic even when paired with jeans or a matching skirt for a bolder look. The skirt is a very dapper one because of its colour and will look great with almost any top you’re gonna wear it with. So such investments are always of multi-uses 😉 I wore these simple silver studs and maroon heels to keep it classy and elegant, and simply blow-dried my hair for a chic look.
The history of the cake-mixing ceremony dates back to the 17th century when it marked the arrival of the harvest season. During this time lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared to go into the making of the traditional plum cake. The mix was saved up for the next harvest season with the hope that the coming year would bring with it another abundant year. This ceremony quickly metamorphosed to an intimate congregation, with family coming together to soak dry fruits in wine or rum in hoping that the fine flavor would fill their Christmas with delectable sweetness! This is a fun event and we were invited along with kids. There was a different section for the kids to do their bit of cake mixing with fruit juices & they had much fun doing it. We were given the Toques and Aprons and a huge tray was beautifully decorated with all those dry fruits, tutti fruity & cereals. Then came the Chef with bottles of alcohol and distributed them amongst all of us and we started mixing it with great joy and pleasure! It’s usually done outdoors hence I chose this subtle combination of clothes!
Hope you guys like it!
