This one’s for my love of saris and the typical South Indian style! We had a Pooja at home wherein we’d invited all our family and close friends and I thought it would be cool if we decided upon some theme.. I mean all of us would look uniform and it adds some josh to family get-togethers which are otherwise oh so boring! So we finalized on the South-Indian look as we are North Indians and it would be really exciting for us to try out something new. So I borrowed this sari from my mom which is a kancheepuram silk pattu and I love those appealing colors. I wore a gold blouse which looked smart and edgy along with the sari.
For the jewelry, I chose to go with the authentic temple jewelry as it would do proper justice to my sari, A Ganesha pendant choker, and a coin necklace looked regal and aesthetic! I’ve always fancied the traditional gold belt that South Indian women wear around their waist during major occasions and festivals, it’s seen as a status symbol in their culture but I find it super stylish and so I decided to wear the Vaddanam. An Armlet is an absolute necessity when it comes in Indian accessories and looks classy as well, there are a variety of Armlets available to choose from. The one I am wearing is an authentic gold baajuband. Ceremonies & festivals are never complete without flowers, be it Indian or western! And when it comes to us, we use flowers to decorate the house, cars, temples and also ourselves 😉 The Gajra is ornamented women wear to decorate their hair bun and braid coiling. It also smells wonderful as it is made of jasmine flowers which have a lovely fragrance and it made me look classic and timeless.
That’s it for now, Let me know your thoughts on this!
Stay tuned for more!
